It’s Never Too Late To Learn
Have you ever heard someone say, ?I?m too old to learn?? Did you believe them? I hope not. There are many people in their 50?s and 60?s going back to college to earn their degree. At that point in their life they are probably doing it because it is something they want to accomplish. The likelihood of improved earning power is no longer the motivating factor.
Computers are now such a part of our lives. Do you know anyone who is very uncomfortable around computers? Chances are it is an older person. Younger people have grown up with computers and are very knowledgeable of them. Share your knowledge with them. Even if you only have basic knowledge, share it. They will think you are a genius. Teach them to e-mail. Teach them the basics of MS Word. Teach them to surf the web. What a wealth of knowledge is available online. Teach them to find it. It will enrich their lives.
I recently began an online business. I spent months researching businesses and ended up joining this opportunity. It required very little investment, which suited my budget. A fully set-up website was included. Now I had so much information at my fingertips. I was overwhelmed! I couldn?t concentrate on one thing. There were so many things to investigate. Fortunately, as a member of this organization, I had access to an excellent Forum. People are so helpful. You get answers and encouragement. The downside of this is that I then felt pulled in many more directions. I was learning a lot, but not making much progress.
Then a gentleman posted a thread on the forum. As I said earlier, share your knowledge with others. He is very successful. He offered to help any members who felt like they needed help. I was amazed! This man could sit back and do nothing and still make good money. Here he was, offering to help a newbie.
He is sharing his knowledge and I am working hard to learn everything that he says I should learn. A couple of weeks ago ?HTML? didn?t mean much to me. Now (after studying) I can go in my website and make changes. WOW! I never thought I would ever be able to do that. My confidence is growing and I know I will succeed.
Thank you!
Again I ask, as I did at the beginning, are you ever too old to learn. In a few weeks I turn sixty. I have learned a lot in the last few months. My brain seems to work even when I am asleep. The other night I could not fix a problem on my website. I finally gave up and went to bed. When I woke in the morning, I had the answer.
I do not care what age you are: EXPAND YOUR MIND. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, GO AFTER THE IMPOSSIBLE! You won?t be sorry. You will grow, even if you don?t succeed in a particular endeavor. You will try again and you will make it.
Live Life to the Fullest.
Enjoy Life.
Share your Knowledge with Others.

Looking For An At Home Business
Have you ever wondered if you could really start a business by yourself? Do you have the dream of working for yourself? Do you want to be more available to your kids? Do you want a little extra income for things you cannot now afford? If you answered yes to any of these questions, I can offer some advice.
Close to six years ago I got divorced. Here I was ?50 something? and suddenly on my own. My first thought was that I would like to start my own business. I will admit to ulterior motives. I was (and still am) an avid tennis player. I wanted to be able to have a flexible schedule which would allow me to play tennis. Well, I was afraid to take a chance, so I re-entered the ?8 to 5? world.
Fast forward to 2005. I was fast approaching 60. The idea of starting my own business was still in the back of my mind and the urge was even stronger. I decided to take the plunge. Why now? First of all, I have a lot more confidence in myself. It is also so much easier to find a business now. You can search for anything on the internet.
I started researching. My email box was overflowing. There were so many opportunities that sounded good. Unfortunately I did not know anyone who could give me advice. I signed up for one legitimate sounding business and found out it was a scam. Fortunately I emailed and telephoned so much that they gave me my money back.
Then it was back to the drawing board. I had learned that what you get is not always what you are promised, so I was very careful. The experience left me with a desire to have a ?work at home directory? to help others find legitimate businesses.
My adventure is just beginning. I found a very legitimate opportunity. One measure of a company should be the amount of support they offer. Many people starting a business are ?newbies?. They need lots of resources. Another advantage of the opportunity I took was that a website was provided. Not only that, but I could modify it. This means that I could make a directory for ?at home? businesses. This meant I had to learn HTML. What a sense of accomplishment when my revised site was online!
I still have that goal of working fulltime at home. I am progressing toward it and am determined that I will reach it. If I can do it, so can YOU! Don?t be afraid to dream. You must be willing to work hard. It?s tough working a 40 hour job and then putting in many hours on your at home job. Stick with it. Don?t give up. Just keep thinking of how good it will be when you no longer have to commute to work, when you can set your own schedule, and when those checks start arriving in the mail.
Do something about it today. REACH FOR THE STARS!

Information Overload
Welcome to the world of “home business”. You have recently decided which business to go with. Congratulations! Hopefully it is a legitimate one. If you used my Home Business Directory, it is.
Now you are ready to start work. Soon your email box will be overflowing, not only from the organization you joined, but from others as well. You will get messages like “You can’t run your business without this” ,”We can bring more traffic to your site than anyone else”, “Learn how to write effective emails”, “You will earn thousands by selling this product”. Your whole day could be consumed with reading emails. I started saving emails until I had more time. Finally it got to the point where I just deleted lots of them without reading.
If you joined a good company they will have a good training program. I was totally overwhelmed with the amount of resources available to me. Actually I joined a program that has 5 income streams. That meant 5 times as much information available to me. The key to this is if you have a good sponsor, you will have someone to guide you. I didn’t. I got a letter saying I am your sponsor and that was about it. I floundered for awhile, grabbing bits of information from here and there and not really making any progress. My head was spinning from cramming so much information into it. It was impossible to absorb it all. Fortunately I printed out a lot of it and now I can go back to it and take the time to understand it.
I finally found direction at the forum that is available to members of my business. It is wonderful! These people are actually competing for the same market, but they take the time to help others. I couldn’t believe it! You post a thread with a problem. Check back later and several members usually have responded with advice. One very successful member actually offered to mentor others in advertising at no cost. This was unbelievable! I immediately signed up. Since that time I have learned so much! My website looks so much better now. I am beginning to advertise, confident that the methods I am choosing are good ones. The traffic is increasing at my website.
I am excited about the future! I am headed in the right direction. I am so grateful that those who know more are willing to share with the “newbies”. I am determined that I will continue this trend. I will help those who need it. I will work hard to help those who sign on as my affiliate. There is a world out there to conquer and I intend to do it.
There are two purposes of this article. The first is that you find a mentor. If you cannot find one in your business, look elsewhere. Check in forums. Read articles and contact authors who are willing to help. There is someone willing to help you. Sometimes you have to ask for help.
The other point I wanted to put across is that once you start learning, do not hide your knowledge. Be willing to help others. There is no greater reward than seeing someone develop with your help. The world would be a much better place if everyone thought this way. Do your part. Offer to help others.

Do You Have Time For A Work At Home Business?
In order to have a successful business, you must have time for it. I guess that is a rather obvious statement. Most people, when starting an internet business from their home, will still be working a 40 hour a week job elsewhere. That complicates matters.
When I first signed up for a work at home opportunity, I didn’t think much about it. That is because basically the first two months I didn’t do much with my online business. Then I really go involved and the time crunch hit.
Recently I have had thoughts like, “I wish I didn’t have to sleep, so I could work more.” or “I wish there were about 30 hours in the day.” If you are working for someone else plus starting your own business I bet you have had those thoughts also.
I figure that I probably spend close to 30 hours a week on my own business. Factor in hours worked at your other job, commuting time, family obligations, etc. and you have a pretty hectic schedule. It seems like you are always working. I don’t mind that. What does bother me is that I have so many ideas of things I want to do to promote or expand my business.
What is the solution to this problem of a lack of time? If I had the answer I would probably be rich. One thing you have to learn to do is prioritize. As long as you feel you need your regular job you have to allow time for it. Perhaps you could cut back a few hours because of the money you are making at your own business. You would have to consider whether the increased earning from your business would be more valuable than “x” amount per hour.
Certainly do not exclude sleep from your daily regime. Some people need close to eight hours a night. Others can get along fine on 5 hours or less. Your health is more important than your business. Do not neglect it. Get the sleep you need. Find another way to have extra time.
Don’t take on more than you can handle. This is a tough one. You have so many ideas. I started a second website. I enjoyed doing it, but looking back, I think I should have spent the time fine tuning my first site. Now I have to think about advertising two sites, checking on both to make sure everything works. Everything is double…except that I don’t have double the time. So, take this warning. It is best to have one project fully developed before you begin another. Don’t unduly stress yourself.
The ideal is to not have a “regular job”. I have a friend that I met on one of the forums. I am so envious. She has lots of time to spend on the forums (an invaluable source of knowledge and information). She lost her job a year ago due to downsizing. So now she spends all her
time on her work at home business. There is a lot of wishing going on…wish I could work fulltime at this, wish I didn’t have to go out in the freezing weather to go to work, wish I didn’t have to face this commute twice a day.
Some people will take a chance on themselves. They “know” they will succeed and they are willing to drop the sure source of income and devote all their time to the business. I am convinced that I will succeed, BUT I am a very conservative person financially. That means, to me, that until there is sufficient profit I will have to continue working another job.
You have to decide what is best for you. No one can tell you. It is a totally personal decision. To succeed in a work at home business you must be highly motivated and highly disciplined. I know that I will succeed. I know that one day you will be looking through articles and find one written by me entitled, “How Great It Is To Work At Home Fulltime”. And you can imagine how big my smile is while I am typing it.

Deciding To Start Your Own Business
What a scary thought! Who would want to make that leap of faith and start their own business? Do you really have the self confidence to do it? Take a deep breath and think about it.
If you are contemplating starting your own business, I know these thoughts are running through your head. They certainly raced through my mind when I was thinking about it. This is a decision that needs thorough thought. Don?t jump into it without thinking.
Have you thought about opening a store? The investment for an ?on the street? business is great ? thousands and thousands of dollars. That excludes most of us. A workable alternative is a ?work at home? business. The increasing popularity of the internet has really opened up that field. The instability of so many businesses has created a need for many people to work for themselves.
It is very possible to start an ?at home business? with very little investment. This allows the ?little guy? (you and me) to be self-employed. If you search the web for online businesses, you will find many that do require a large initial outlay of cash. That wasn?t for me. I wanted an opportunity to start with little or no cash output and then I could determine expenditures on advertising and other things. This would allow me to control my budget. Not having a lot to spend, I was aware that it is possible to find free methods of advertising which would require more time than money.
Some people will quit their ?day job? and jump into a business. I do not advise this unless you are very financially secure. I continue my full time job, devoting all the hours I can in the evenings and weekends to my new business. This takes a lot of determination! You really need a lot of self confidence to believe that this business will succeed and you will be able to do it full time in the future. You really have to want to change your lifestyle. The thought of being in control of my destiny fuels me. I am determined to succeed.
Work at home businesses are also perfect for part time work. Those of you who just want to supplement your family?s income for vacation money, Christmas money, money to pay the bills would do well with an online business. You can control how much you earn and how much time you spend.
In this day of corporations constantly downsizing, no job is secure. Wouldn?t you rather be the one in charge? Wouldn?t you rather not have a long commute each day? Make the move! Start working for yourself.

Bitten By The Internet Bug
Earlier this year, I knew nothing about internet marketing. I had always thought that it would be great to have a business on the internet, but I was never motivated enough to check it out. Another thing holding me back was my fear that I would not be capable of doing it.
This year was one of those “big birthday” years one that ended in an O. I thought, here I am hitting 60 this year and I still have this dream of starting my own business. I had better get with it now. What an adventure I was about to embark on. I started checking out “work at home” businesses. A couple sounded good, so I tried one. Big mistake! What I got was not what I was promised. Fortunately I have learned that if you want your money back you have to be persistent. I succeeded in getting every cent back. To some people a lost $300 investment may be nothing. To me it was a big thing. I then got more serious about researching work at home opportunities.
I found one and did nothing for awhile. Unfortunately sometimes you have a sponsor who welcomes you and that is it. I was lost and floundering. I wasn’t sure how to get started making money. Things have changed now. I found a forum associated with the opportunity I signed on with. Lesson #1 for those of you just beginning: Find a forum and start learning. Even if you don’t ask questions, you will learn by reading the posts. People offer to help others. I found out I should make some changes to my website to increase profitability. I have learned how to advertise. It is totally amazing how much I have learned this year.
The “bug” really did bite me. I have just purchased another domain name. I have plans for my new website. Down the road I can see more websites. I am so full of ideas. Now, my only problem is time. I work a full-time job and have family responsibilities, so I have to squeeze in time to work on “my business”.
Not having a boss is great. I make the decisions. I sometimes make bad decisions, but I am learning from them. My forum community can give advice he help me make better decisions. I am in charge of my journey down the road to success. I have no doubt that I will make it.
Do you have doubts? Listen, if I can make it, so can you. All you need is a great deal of determination and motivation. You need to believe in yourself. You have to be disciplined enough to work on your own. There are no time clocks to punch. No one to tell you when to go home or take a break. My problem, when working on my ?work at home? biz, is forcing myself to take a break once in awhile. I get so engrossed in working that the day flies by.
It is truly rewarding to have your own internet business. If you have had that dream, stop dreaming and start doing. Find a business, get serious and start working for yourself.

What My Cat Taught Me About Niche Marketing
Some people are “dog people,” others are “cat people.” I’m a cat person. Regardless of which pet you prefer, we can all agree that pets enrich our lives in many ways. They provide unconditional affection, they don’t care what we look like, and sometimes even they teach us a life lesson.
But I never expected my cat to teach me a marketing lesson! A niche marketing lesson, to be more precise.
At this point, the dog lovers reading this are saying that this cat person is crazy. But I’m not. Here’s how it happened.
Like millions of other pet lovers, I bought plenty of pet toys. We all want to be able to interact with our pets, yet still have them not be bored when we’re away.
My cat went through the usual toy assortment: feathers, balls with bells in them, foam balls, catnip, string, and an assortment of stuffed rodents. Because we all want the best for our furry friends, I bought the biggest stuffed rat I could find. It received an occasional sniff but was mostly ignored.
The medium-sized stuffed mice received more attention, but only if I moved the mouse or threw it for the cat. He wouldn’t play with it on his own.
Then my cat was given a pair of tiny stuffed mice. I thought they were too small and would be ignored just as the giant rat was.
Boy was I wrong!
Like a lion on a gazelle, my cat pounced on the tiny mouse and gave it a beating it would never forget. He played mouse hockey through the house, scoring goals under the refrigerator and under the stove. He played baseball, tossing the mouse high into the air and catching it again, or hitting a home run on the way down. He played jungle lion, proudly carrying his prey back to his waiting pride (me!).
So what does all this warm fuzzy cat stuff have to do with online sales?
It’s a metaphor for niche marketing. The cat is the consumer. The cat toys are your products. The ultimate goal is to match the former with the latter.
Your first product, the giant rat, was of vague interest to the consumer (the cat). The consumer sniffed at your ad or sales page, but did not like what he smelled, and moved on. No sales.
Your second product, the medium-sized mice, were more interesting to the potential buyer. He would take action, but only after intensive prompting on your part. You would probably have to spend a lot on pay per click ads or gave away lots of bonuses to get his business. A few sales might be made, but it would be expensive to get those sales.
But your third product, the mini-mouse, was pure magic! Your cat consumer took one look, something in his brain clicked, and a sale was made. It was as if your product was a key that unlocked the part of the customer’s brain that triggered the buying impulse. Jackpot!
That’s what my cat taught me about niche marketing. You must find a product that somebody desperately wants (preferably a large group of somebodies). That product must be exactly what they were looking for, even if they didn’t know they wanted it! It must be so tantalizing that your customer is more concerned about playing with his new toy than he or she is about paying for it.
You see, I made a classic info-product mistake with my cat. I gave him what I thought he would like. I wasted money promoting large stuffed rodents and heaps of other toys to him. What I didn’t do is ask him what he needed and give him that!
Don’t make the same mistake! Figure out what your customers want FIRST, and give them that. Then watch them pounce on it so fast that the payment process is almost an afterthought for them.
I have since learned that the mini-mice are about the same size as real mice. No wonder the cat was sold on them immediately! He had never seen a real mouse, but there was a mini-mouse sized niche in his brain that was instantly gratified by the smallest mouse toy.
Don’t give your customers what you think they need. Ask them what they want, and give them that. Then you will have truly created a better mousetrap, and they will beat a path to your door (and your bank account)!

Methods Of Saving Money
Saving is basically putting aside money or a way to utilize your present income for future use. One saves for several reasons such as for a college education, buying a new car, for a new TV set you wish to acquire in three to four months time, for down payment on a home, or to provide for yourself when retirement comes.
As much as there are several reasons for saving, there are likewise many methods in which one can save. In most instances, the best method can be determined by whatever plans you have for the future.
1. Savings accounts. When saving for just a short period or for emergency purposes, consider opening a savings account passbook, as it is in this method that you can easily gain access to your funds.
Great for both long and short term savings, you can deposit and withdraw money to your account and earn interest, based on your average daily balance. A minimum balance is required to be maintained though, and you are charged with a penalty should you fail to maintain it.
2. Checking account with interest. Here one can benefit from checking account conveniences, while your deposits gain interests. Generally these types of accounts grants privileges such as limitless withdrawal and check writing, access to ATM and bill payments that can be done online.
This method typically requires a daily maintaining balance of at least $2,000.
3. Money market insured accounts. For long-termed goals, this method is ideal, as it generally offers a much higher rate of interest compared to a regular or standard savings account.
The interest rate usually is dependent on the amount of money in your bank account; larger balance means higher interest.
4. ?CD? or Certificates of Deposit. This is a savings method requiring you to ?loan? your money to your financial agency for a certain time frame, usually ranging from thirty days up to five years. Here, the longer the time span again, means higher interest.
Keep in mind that usually insurance companies offer better deals on interests compared to banks, so before you invest, compare rates first!
At certain times, when your goal is many years away, it can be a wiser decision to save money in a certain way that you are not drawn on using it other than the main reason for saving it. Deciding on the right financial agency such as a bank, credit union or insurance firm can bring about a lot of benefit in your finances.

Internet Marketing Strategy For Online Internet Business - Budgeting Your Money by Anderson Josiah
One of the more difficult things to do when you’re starting a new home business is planning and putting together a financial budget. Without any past data on which to base expenses and income it might seem like your guessing, but as part of any companys? business plan an estimated budget can be done with some thought of future operations.
In almost all companies there are really two categories, expense and income. Under your expenses category there could be several smaller sub-categories most often falling within two areas uncontrollable and controllable expenses. While most small business owners claim that they have control over all expenses involved in their campaign, they are just burying there heads in the sand as some costs such as rent, utility cost, and other fixed costs can change, without any control by the owner.
Some other expenses like insurance, payroll, advertising and promotion can be subjected to a budget and are considered to be a controllable expense. If the company begins to slip off, you can try to control a few of these expenses by sending home staff and cutting spending on promotion and advertising.
Depending on the sustainability of your company if the business is going through a bad spell it often is a good investment to take the bull by the horn and pay employee salaries, continue to provide a good service to the balance of the remaining loyal customers until business is back on its feet. It might be hard to pay staff but by trying to do all the work yourself not only will you quickly burn out , and if no one is handling the customers it wont be long before there are no clients left to take care of
